Punjab School Education Board has published the 10th Class Semester I Examination Results 2010.   The Board comprises of a Chairman, Vice Chairman and twenty five other members including Educationists, Academicians and Political members. The Board comprises of four main branches i.e. Academic Branch, Examination Branch, Publication Branch and Administration/Accounts Branch. These branches control various activities and functions of the Board.  The Board has been entrusted with responsibility of granting affiliation to the private schools in the state as per the prescribed rules and guidelines. The Board has affiliated approximately 2700 schools till date. A special cell to promote quality education in the schools and to organize various educational development programmes has been set up in the Board. The Board has also established ten Adarsh Schools since 1979 in order to provide quality education in the rural areas, on the direction of the Punjab Government.

The board has a full-fledged wing with all the necessary expertise for the production and sale of text books upto senior secondary level. The Board has set up 21 text book sale depots-cum-offices. The Board has printed 143 titles of Text Books during the year 2009-10. At present, the Punjab School Education Board conducts the public Examinations at Middle, Matriculation and Senior Secondary level. The State Government later on decided that the Non-Teaching Staff in the posts of Librarian, Clerk and Group-D Staff including Laboratory Attendant, Peon, Night Guard, Matron in recognized Non-Government aided Schools in West Bengal should also be recruited through School Service Commission, and accordingly necessary amendments have been introduced in the said Act, vide the West Bengal School Service Commission (Amendment) Act, 2008 (West Ben. Act IV of 2008) and such selection process be guided by the West Bengal School Service Commission (Selection of Persons for Appointment to the Post of Non-Teaching Staff) Rules, 2009.

The Criteria for selection of Assistant Teachers under Regional Level Selection Test are as follows:

(A) Academic including Professional Qualifications – 25 marks

(B) Written Examination

(i) Paper I relating to the relevant subject – marks – 60 marks
(ii) Paper II relating to General Knowledge & Aptitude Test etc. – 10 marks

(C) Personality Test [Appearance before the P.T. Board is compulsory] -5 marks

Total – 100 marks
