All India postal Strike 2010 or All India postal employees or City postal employees to join Nationwide Indefinite strike called by NFPE and FNPO which is going to begin on July 13, 2010 (Tuesday). Over five lakh postal employees across the country, including 3,700 from the district, are going on an indefinite nationwide strike pressing for 18 demands.

C B Surve, circle secretary, class four employees’ union already has given the notice regarding the strike to the government on June 4, 2010 that they will start the All India postal Strike 2010 at 6 am on July 13, 2010 (Tuesday) and continue till all their demands met Called by the National Federation of Postal Employees (NFPE) and Federation of National Postal Organisations (FNPO), the main demands that the strike presses for are — stop privatisation in postal service, immediate recruitment to meet staff shortage and redesign Project Arrow that has overburdened the employees as it demands 100 per cent delivery.

Natasha Padbidri Suicide: Natasha Padbidri a 30 years old former model on july 11, 2010 (Sunday) committed suicide at her residence in suburban Versova. Natasha Padbidri, who did a few modelling assignments some years ago, hanged herself by dupatta in the bedroom of her flat in Petricorn building. pardari, who stays alone in one of the two flats of their own committed suicide, her parents said that she was in tension and depression from long and rather investigation is going on. According to police, her brother knocked on the door but since there was no response, police were called.

ISRO PSLV C15 Launch Schedule today on July 12, 2010. ISRO Sriharikota PSLV-C15 launched CARTOSAT-2B, ALSAT-2A, NLS 6.1 & 6.2  and STUDSAT Successfully. PSLV which is usually known as The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle is the first operational launch vehicle of ISRO.  ISRO (The Indian Space Research Organisation) launched the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C-15 from Satish Dhawan space centre near Sriharikota spaceport that carries remote sensing Cartosat-2B along with four satellites today at 9.22 am.

The rocket will place four satellites into orbit that include Alsat from Algeria, two nano satellites from Canada and Switzerland, and a pico (very small) satellite Studsat built by seven engineering students of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

The rocket will put into orbit five satellites including remote sensing satellite Cartosat-2B from India, Alsat from Algeria, two nano satellites from Canada and Switzerland, and a pico (very small) satellite called Studsat built by seven engineering students in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

He said that the satellite is aimed to be helpful in urban planning and infrastructure development such as laying ring-roads and re-routing of highways.

Typical Parameters of PSLV :

• Lift-off weight: 295 tonne
• Pay Load: 1600 kg in to 620 km Polar Orbit, 1060 kg in to Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO)
• Height: 44 metre

PSLV is capable of launching 1600 kg satellites in 620 km sun-synchronous polar orbit and 1050 kg satellite in geo-synchronous transfer orbit. In the standard configuration, it measures 44.4 m tall, with a lift off weight of 295 tonnes. PSLV has four stages using solid and liquid propulsion systems alternately. The first stage is one of the largest solid propellant boosters in the world and carries 139 tonnes of propellant. A cluster of six strap-ons attached to the first stage motor, four of which are ignited on the ground and two are air-lit.

The reliability rate of PSLV has been superb. There had been 16 continuously successful flights of PSLV, till July 2010. With its variant configurations, PSLV has proved its multi-payload, multi-mission capability in a single launch and its geosynchronous launch capability. In the recent Chandrayaan-mission, another variant of PSLV with an extended version of strap-on motors, PSOM-XL, the payload haul was enhanced to 1750 kg in 620 km SSPO. PSLV has rightfully earned the status of workhorse launch vehicle of ISRO.
