Also known as BNJ in his close circle Prof Bijendra Nath Jain teaching and research interests are in Computer Networks and Systems, with applications to wireless networks, environment monitoring and information security. Over the last 35 years, Prof Jain has trained over 2500 computer communication specialists, many of whom are leaders in R & D in India and abroad, including those in government or industry. Prof Bijendra Nath Jain is a B. Tech. (Electrical ) from IIT Kanpur and Ph.D. from SUNY, Stony Brook (NY). He is with IIT Delhi since 1975 where he has been a Microsoft Chair Professor, Head of the Department, Dean Alumni Affairs, and Deputy Director (Faculty Affairs). Prof Bijendra Nath Jain has authored several research papers in international journals and conferences. He has co-authored the book "OSI : Its Architecture and Protocols' published in 1993 by McGraw Hill, New York and translated into Japanese by Soft Research. He is also a co-inventor, with researchers from Cisco Systems, in seven US patents. Prof Bijendra Nath Jain has joined BITS Pilani on 1st August 2010 according to a press release by BITS Pilani.
