Tata Motors to Receive Rs.95 billion from Gujarat Government for Nano Plant

Posted: 16 Apr 2010 01:01 AM PDT

Tata Motors will receive a loan of Rs.95 billion at an interest rate of 0.1 percent for 20 years from Gujarat government for building up a township and a ‘transport nagar’ in the adjacent region of Tata's Sanand manufacturing plant. The car maker shifted its manufacturing plant of Nano Project from Singur in West Bengal to Sanand in Gujarat last month as Trinamool Congress-led farmers set up huge protests against Tata's Nano plant.

Gujarat government, on the other hand, has lent its helping hand for the Tata to carry on its Nano Plant in the state and assured Tata of providing different concessions.

Times of India reported:

Tata Motors will get 20 years from the commencement of the project to repay the amount at an interest rate of 0.1 percent. The amount will be repaid by adjusting value added tax dues of the company, the sources said.

Local government officials refused to comment on the deal between the government and the auto maker.
However, Tata Motors officials said the total amount was an aggregate of “various concessions”, including the 100 acres, stamp duty exemptions and concessional power tariff.

Tata Nano is one of the most alluring car projects taken in the domestic car industry in India over the last few years. Tata Nano is touted as the world's cheapest car which is expected to be priced at Rs. 1 lakh. No doubt, this car has huge room of getting success in the domestic car market of India. Coupled with its export demand, it is expected that Tata Nano will have a huge demand annually. So, Tata Nano plant is expected to be continued for a long time and this plant will create lots of employment and will make infrastructural development in the state. So, it is a win-win situation for both.

Priyanka Chopra sizzles in Dostana with her golden swimsuit

Posted: 15 Apr 2010 06:44 PM PDT

This year, Priyanka Chopra did eight movies altogether. Her latest movie, Fashion, is doing good business in India but it did poorly in the overseas. Now, she is working hard to promote Dostana; her last movie of 2008. Dostana is an NRI romantic comedy. In the movie, Priyanka Chopra played the female lead. A sexy looking NRI girl Priyanka Chopra caught audience's attention for her golden bikini. Everybody liked her new sexy look. Times of India reports:

She laughed infectiously when I told her. "You see, I like playing different characters on-screen; in real life I try being as much 'me' as possible. The character, the film, the location – were all right. And in this case, it wasn't so much the swimsuit being tailored for me as me being inspired by the swimsuit. Manish (Malhotra) got hold of this stunning gold swimwear and I was so floored that I worked at getting into it, the rest is history."

Though Priyanka Chopra looked stunning in the movie, she is not entirely concerned with 'size zero.' Priyanka Chopra eats his butter naan and chicken tikka and work out. She does not believe in sacrificing her pleasures.

In Dostana, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham played gay couples, when asked if she would play a gay character, Priyanka Chopra said why not. Priyanka always try to do different roles in her movies. So bring it on?

Indian youth will love ‘Golmaal Returns’: Tusshar Kapoor

Posted: 15 Apr 2010 06:30 AM PDT

In Rohit Shetty's Golmaal, Tusshar Kapoor gave one of his best performances of his acting career. He played the role of a mute guy whose physical gestures and weird sounds were translated by Sharman Joshi. With Golmaal becoming a super hit in 2006, not only his mute character became very popular but also he won several awards.

Once again, Tusshar Kapoor is reprising his famous "Goonga" character in Golmaal Returns. In Golmaal Returns, Tusshar Kapoor's character's name is ‘Lucky.’ He is the brother-in-law of Gopal (Ajay Devgan). In Golmaal he ended up with Rimi Sen. This time, it is beautiful girl, Anjana Sukhani. Regarding his character in Golmaal Returns Tusshar Kapoor said:

“Funnier, nastier and deadlier? Well, that’s for you to decide”, smiles Tusshar who is brimming with confidence considering the fact that the film as well as his act are carrying great reports, “I know for sure that people loved me in Golmaal. My role was sweet and short in that one though. However, in Golmaal Returns the scope has been increased. Also, unlike the first installment, no one helps in translating what I am trying to say. I have to do all on my own.”

Like previous movie, Tusshar Kapoor's character does not take the help of any translator. He speaks his own language and creates more confusion in the movie.

Regarding Rohit Shetty's capability, Tusshar Kapoor said that Rohit Shetty thinks very commercially. He knows what he wants and that is to make a commercially successful movie not a critically acclaimed movie. If critics like it then it is fine. Golmaal Returns mainly targets the young audience. Tusshar Kapoor is confident that the Indian youth will enjoy Golmaal Returns very much.
