DHBVN started the facility of registration of complaints through SMS at Bijli Suvidha Kendra

Chandigarh, June 30- The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has started the facility of registration of complaints relating to power supply through SMS at Bijli Suvidha Kendra, Hisar.

Stating this today, a spokesman of DHBVN said that a dedicated mobile phone number 93555-01912 had been made available for receiving complaints through SMS. The consumer making complaint through SMS would be given message back telling him number of registration of his complaint and tentative time to be taken in restoration of power supply. He said that this facility would be provided at all the Bijli Suvidha Kendras (BSKs) in the area of DHBVN.

The Nigam had also provided toll free telephone number 1912 to get lodged complaints regarding power supply at all the BSKs located at district head quarters in the area of DHBVN. Complaints could be got registered on 1912 from land line number of the BSNL, he added.

The spokesman said that DHBVN had made available three other mobile phone numbers 98122-21712, 99920-17469 and 99920-17471 and four land line number Numbers 01662-225022, 225023, 225028 and 225087 for complaints at the BSK. Five additional computers had also been provided at the BSK to computerize the complaint system.


Parliamentary Committee to visit Mirchpur village

Chandigarh, June 30– Parliamentary Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes consisting of 30 members of Parliament and six officers of the Secretariat will be on study-visit to Mirchpur village, district Hisar on July 2, 2010.

Stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana Government said that during their visit, the members of the Committee would take stock of the situation prevailing and measures taken by the administration following Mirchpur incident. They would also have discussions with the senior officers, besides interacting with the people of Mirchpur village.


Birender Singh’s nomination for Rajya Sabha is a good step: Hooda

Chandigarh, June 30-Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda today described Mr. Birender Singh's nomination for Rajya Sabha as a good step and added that the State and the country would be benefitted from his experience.

The Chief Minister was replying to the questions of media persons after filing of nomination papers by senior Congress leader and former Haryana Finance Minister Mr. Birender Singh for the Rajya Sabha seat as Congress candidate from Haryana at Vidhan Sabha here today.

Mr Hooda said that Mr Birender Singh's nomination would also further strengthen the Congress Party.

President of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr Phool Chand Mullana also said that Mr Birender Singh's nomination would benefit the State.


Birender Singh filed his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha seat

Chandigarh, June 30-Senior Congress Leader and former Haryana Finance Minister, Mr. Birender Singh filed his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha seat as Congress candidate from Haryana here today.

Mr. Birender Singh filed two sets of nomination papers with the returning officer Mr. Sumit Kumar, who is also Secretary, Haryana Vidhan Sabha. The legislators who proposed his candidature in the first set were Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Working President of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr Kuldeep Sharma, Mr Ajay Singh Yadav,Mr Aftab Ahmad,Mr Anil Dhantori, Ms Shakuntla Khatak, Mr Paramvir Singh,Mr Anand Kaushik, Mr Dharamvir Singh and Mr Sampat Singh.The proposers in the second set included Mr Randeep Singh Surjewala, Mr Ram Kishan Gujjar, Mr Jaiteerath, Mr Jaiveer Balmiki, Mr Anand Singh Dangi, Rao Dan Singh, Mr Venod Sharma, Mrs Kiran Chaudhary and Ms Anita Yadav.

Mr Birender Singh was accompanied by Union Tourism Minister Ms. Selja, Union Minister of State Mr. Prithviraj Chavan, Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda,Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) President Mr. Phool Chand Mullana, HPCC Working President, Mr. Kuldeep Sharma. Mrs Prem Lata, wife of Mr Birender Singh,a number of Congress MLAs, former Ministers and former MLAs were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda chaired the meeting of State Congress Legislative Party here. All legislatures of Congress Party participated in the meeting.


TED Haryana invited proposals from engineering institutions

Chandigarh, June 30 – The Technical Education Department, Haryana has invited proposals from engineering institutions in the State for participation in Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme, Phase-II (TEQIP–II).

While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Technical Education Department said that the proposals had been invited under Sub Component 1.1: ‘Strengthening Institutions to improve learning outcomes and employability of graduates’ and Sub Component 1.2 ‘Scaling up postgraduate education and demand-driven R&D&I’.

The project “Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme, Phase-II” had been launched by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development, with the objective of improving the quality of technical education in the country and further enhancing the existing capacities of the institutions, he added.

He said that proposals under Sub Component 1.1 should be submitted in triplicate along with a soft copy in PDF format to the Directorate of Technical Education, Haryana on or before July 23, 2010 and under Sub Component 1.2 on or before August 16, 2010.

The Project Implementation Plan (PIP) eligibility criteria and application formats were available on website www.nipu.nic.in, he added.


Haryana Government has notified July 6 and 10 as public holidays

Chandigarh, June 30 – The Haryana Government has notified July 6 and 10 as public holidays in the offices, educational and other institutes of the State Government as well as its boards and corporations situated in the districts of Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Panipat, Rohtak, Hisar, Gurgaon, Rewari and Gram Panchayat Siwanamal and Naya Gaon Siwanamal Block Safidon of district Jind to enable employees of these institutions or offices to cast their votes in the Panchayat elections which will be held in these areas on these dates.

Holiday will also be observed in these areas on July 6 and 10 under section 25 of Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881.

Commercialization and dissemination of technology developed by CCSHAU Hisar

Chandigarh, June 30– A Vocational Scheme and Development Unit has recently been set up in the Human Resource Management Directorate of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), Hisar for the commercialisation of the technology developed by the University and disseminate it to the common people.

This was disclosed by Dr R.S. Dalal, Registrar, CCSHAU, Hisar while speaking as a Chief Guest in the concluding function of three-week Refresher Course on Extension Education Management organised in the University.

He said that Vocational Scheme and Development Unit has been established in collaboration with Indian Council of Agricultural Research. He urged the extension education experts to work in tandem with the farmers. In this way, they would be able to understand the problems being faced by the farmers and at the same time, farmers would get expert’s advice.

He said that there was a deep chasm between technology development and its transfer and as such all the farmers were not getting the benefit of new agriculture technology. He admitted that it was not possible for the extension education experts to reach all the farmers,but farmers could be provided with information regarding agriculture, animal husbandry and weather by means of internet, mobile phones and media. The extension education experts should use these means of communications to disseminate information regarding agriculture.

As many as 16 extension education experts working in the Agricultural Universities and Krishi Vigyan Kendras of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Maharashtra participated in the refresher course.

Dr R.S. Dalal handed over certificates to the participants.


Haryana Staff Selection Commission has decided to change the date of interview from 6th and 10th July

Chandigarh, June 30– In view of Panchayat elections on July 6 and 10, Haryana Staff Selection Commission has decided to change the date of interview fixed for these days.

The interview for the post of clerks in various Departments, Boards and Corporations would be held at Commission’s Office, Panchkula, PWD (B&R) Rest House, Rewari, Karnal and Canal Rest House, Yamunanagar on September 7, 2010 instead of July 6, 2010. The interview for the post of Sub Inspector General, Cooperative Societies Haryana would now be held at Commission’s Office at Panchkula on September 8, 2010 instead of July 10, 2010.


7-day Saang Utsav will be organised by DIPR Haryana

Chandigarh, June 30– 7-day Saang Utsav will be organised by Information, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs Department, Haryana at Tagore Theatre from July 1. The programme will commence at 6:30 p.m. daily.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Department said that on July 1, Saang based on ‘Krishna Janam’ would be staged by Parkash Sangi and on July 2, ‘Navratan’ based Saang would be staged by Sheonath Sangi. Seth Chanderpal Sumitra Devi based Saang would be presented by Suraj Bedi Sangi on July 3, Gopi Chand Saang by Mahabir Sangi on July 4, Raja Bhoj Sharande Saang by Ram Saran Sangi on July 5, Kammo Kailash based Saang by Jagbir Sangi on July 6. On July 7, ‘Narsi Bhagat ka Saang’ would be presented by Dharambir Sangi.
