Hyundai Verna Transform launch by Hyundai India and the Verna Transform Price starts at Rs 6.55 lakh. Hyundai Motors launched their new Verna Transform in Korea but today they launched this car in India as well. Hyundai is India's second largest car selling company. Not only does the Verna Transform get a new pair of headlamps – that themselves are far more stylish than the current set, but it also gets a completely new front bumper as well. The headlights now look more in line with Hyundai’s scorcher-of-a-car, the Genesis Coupe which is most definitely a huge improvement on the earlier units that the Verna had. But the headlamp change doesn’t garner just visual appeal – Hyundai claims that it also provides better illumination. The front bumper gets a curvier theme with creases that seem to converge to a point behind the license plate – an effect that gets accentuated by the new grille that features body-colour slats running its full width just under the Hyundai logo. Then there is also the cascade mesh air dam and the round fog lamps surrounded by black inserts. Completing the visual changes on the front is the sleek row of LED turn indicators on the wing mirrors. The tail features a new lamp design as well as chrome garnish along with a dual tone redesigned bumper. But the highlight of the rear end has to be the trapezoidal chrome finished exhaust tip.

On the inside, Hyundai says the Verna Transform has been tweaked to enhance convenience to users. The instrumentation and display lighting thus turns a nice shade of blue and the instrument cluster itself has also been redesigned with silver surround dials for the speedometer and tachometer.

Hyundai Verna Transform Features & Specifications:

Interested buyers will still get a choice of a 1.6 litre petrol and a 1.5 litre diesel engine. The petrol engine puts out 103.2PS @ 5500rpm and 146 Nm of torque that peaks at 3000rpm and finds way into the Verna Transform 1.6 VTVT and 1.6 SX VTVT. The diesel unit makes 110PS @ 4000rpm and 236Nm between 1900 and 2750rpm and is available in three variants – 1.5 CRDi VGT, 1.5 SX CRDi VGT & 1.5 SX VGT (AT). While both petrol variants and the first two mentioned diesel variants are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the 1.5 SX VGT (AT) is coupled to a 4-speed auto’box.

Verna Transform’s pricing remains at Rs 6.55 lakh while the SX VTVT will now go for Rs 7.5 lakh – only Rs 20,000 higher than the older SX. The 1.5 CRDi is now Rs 7.87 lakh and the SX variant on the oil-burner will retail for Rs 8.38 lakh with the manual transmission while the 1.5 SX VGT (AT) is tagged at Rs 9.21 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

The World Classical Tamil Conference 2010, will be held in Coimbatore (Kovai) tomorrow, Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Wednesday launched the website (www.ulakathamizhchemmozhi.org) for the World Classical Tamil Conference 2010 to be held in Coimbatore (Kovai) in June 2010. The conference will remain continue from June 23, 2010 to June 27, 2010. Coimbatore was already selected and announced as the next venue for Tamil Conference last year on 9th November, 2009. Tamil Internet Conference will also take place along with Tamil Conference. Tamil Nadu CM is the chairman of this conference. The conference aims in promoting the rich heritage of Tamil language. Not all agree, however, with the academic and intellectual rigor of the event. The conference’s theme song (Tamil Semmozhi Manadu song) was composed by A. R. Rahman for the 2010 conference at the request of M. Karunanidhi, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu. A host of Indian playback singers took part in the song.

Each conference is attended by thousands of Tamil diplomats around the world. Conferences are hosted in various cities in India, as well as world cities with a significant Tamil population.

Designed in Tamil and English, the website has different sections pertaining to the theme of the conference, announcements made on the meet, the significance of the host city (Coimbatore) and the historical background of the declaration of Tamil as a classical language.

The expenses of the conference would be monitored by the Chief Secretary, Finance Secretary, Special Officer and the District Collector. The government would meet whatever requirements indicated by the officials.

K. Anbazhagan and Arcot N. Veeraswami, Ministers, Kanimozhi, Member of Parliament and K. Allaudin, Special Officer, were among those present.

The Chief Minister also released the 2010 calendar designed by the State Tourism department.

Lascaux Indologist Dr. Parpola Finland will be given the Kalaignar Karunanidhi Tamil Classic award for his unforgettable work for Indus Script. President Pratibha Patil will present him award which is developed by Central Institute of Classical Tamil.
