Satyam insiders Priscilla Nelson and Ed Cohen have published a book for corporate honchos on how to manage a crisis like Satyam Computers. Riding the Tiger: Leading Through Learning in Turbulent Times a book by Nelson and Cohen has been released in India today. Priscilla Nelson and Ed Cohen were both senior leaders at Satyam during the years 2005 to 2009 and must have closely observed the leaders like Mr. Ramalinga Raju. They now offer consulting services to corporates through their Nelson Cohen Global Consulting.

Their book Riding the Tiger is about how people react, respond, and courageously to lead during turbulent times. The book gives a specific, step-by-step approach to organizational renewal spurred by leadership through learning.

Speaking on the ocassion CP Gurnami, CEO of Mahindra Satyam said - "While many continue to concentrate of what happened (at Satyam), how it happened, why it happened, and the sensationalism of the crisis," says Gurnami, "I am delighted that Priscilla and Ed are reaching out to the world through this medium as they present an objective view of what transpired inside the organization and how crisis engineered us even better, where we got far better prepared for the future."

According to a Press Release by Nelson Cohen Global Consulting – the book contains insights and practical guidelines that can be implemented by leaders in any organization facing turmoil-and these days that includes most of us.

Recommended reading for Ramalinga Raju?

Now that Mr. Ramalinga Raju is out of prison on bail – he will sure get a chance to read a book and take a lesson or two on managing the crisis himself.

May be if the book could have been released about two years back – he could have avoided the crisis?

Here is The Heart of a Priest (Oru Vaidikante Hrudayamitha) is a reveling book by ex Father K P Shibu from Kerala. K P Shibu and ex-Priest who has left the responsiblity after working for eleven years as priest has alleged in his book that – Homosexuality and adult films had become a part of their lifestyle. Few of priests and nuns were driven by lust for power and money. Mismanagement of funds was also rampant in institutions.

K P Shibu has claimed that that 60% of them had had sexual encounters with nuns, widows, society ladies or other faithful women. There were also those who took advantage of poverty of women, orphans and abused children, and says ragging of new comers to the order shamefully prevails in seminaries.

It may be recalled that a book by Sister Jesmi by name “Amen: Autobiography of a Nun” was also critical of life for Priests and Nuns.

K P Shibu, who worked in the Vincentian Congregation. He left the organization after working for 13 years as a priest student and 11 years as priest. The confessions of a former priest about his priest-sainthood life has become a heated topic for discussion in the church and some have indicated sharp criticism of same.
