India's leading auto manufacturer Tata motors is all set to launch Aria. Aria is a cross-over between a sports utility and multi-utility vehicle.

The car is expected to be priced at around Rs10 lakh. Tata Aria will compete with Toyota Innova and Mahindra’s Xylo.

If we talk about safety features offered, we find that the vehicle include 6 airbags and Electronic Stability Program (ESP), a first for an Indian vehicle. The Aria is powered by a 2.2-litre common rail diesel engine.

Meanwhile, news is that Tata Motors will increase the price of its passenger car Indica and Indigo.

Sources from the company reported that plan to hike prices is due to the impact of rising input costs, particularly tyres. The price hike is expected to implement by Oct 2010.

Hyundai also hiked the prices of its vehicles, Santro, Verna, i10, i20 and Sonata in september 2010, by 1.2 percent.

Maruti Suzuki, has also increased the prices of all of its models, except the Alto, by up to Rs 7,500 in Aug 2010.

People planning to buy Indica or Indigo do it before October.
