Capsized Boat In Mersing Deemed To Be ‘Seaworthy’ Posted: 28 Dec 2010 05:13 AM PST In a shocking announcement, is has been said that the capsized boat in Mersing, that killed several Singaporeans, has been deemed to be seaworthy. Jeffery Shah, official at the Mersing Port Department, stated that this very boat was last inspected on the 22nd of November, after which it was stated to be seaworthy for the future. In every six months, the Mersing Port Department is liable to conduct inspections of its boats, and this very capsized boat too was inspected and for a shock its license has been renewed till the 24th of June 2011. On the other hand, more than 130 personnel are still searching for one person who is still not to be found, after the boat capsized. Beach Patrol and Helicopters have been lodged into the search process, and the officials have said that they will be doing anything to search this missing man. The Meteorological department has sounded a level 3 alert in the region and has told the coastal people that rough and high seas continue to pound the coast this week. |
