Sime Darby, Malaysian Palm Oil manufacturing giant, has officially sued its ex-bosses for $A139 million. As per the company, they state that the former bosses have been found guilty of overruns in the cost which today mounts to almost 2.09 billion ringgit. Ahmad Zubir Murshid and his four accomplices have been sued by Sime, when they were in power.

These overruns have been linked to several loss projects of the company, which mainly includes the Bakun hydroelectric dam project set up in Borneo and also two oil projects from Qatar. After a series of investigations, Sime feels that they have been exploited and they will be demanding the cost of their damages from these four people which is worth 338 million ringgit.

Sime Darby is state controlled and this matter has been elevated to a national level, and the company has made a statement in regards to the claim, saying “restitution for monies wrongfully paid out, damages for losses suffered, loss of profit, aggravated damages and costs”. Later a second suit was filed claiming 92.2 million ringgit, over breach of trust and duty.

Sensation broke out in Shah Alam, Malaysia, when it was revealed that a Singaporean businessman was shot dead inside his car. The Businessman who runs a shop in Shah Alam, was waiting inside his car with a female accomplice, just then two motorcyclists came and shot him in the head twice.

According to a witness, Frankie Wong Wai Sen, 54, was waiting inside his vehicle when a motorcycle came with two people on it, the pillion rider got off and shot Frankie twice in the head. Reports state, the gunman had shot two bullets into Frankie’s ear, as a result he died immediately.

The female accomplice along with Frankie was in state of shock, when she saw him die, and now she feels that she could be in danger too. There have been arrests that have taken place, the police says that they have held three suspects, most probably the former partners of Frankie, who had left the business over a petty dispute.

K.Karunakaran, veteran Congress politician and ex-chief minister of the Kerala state passed away today. He was 92 years old.

K.Karunakaran was the chief minister of the Kerala state for four times in his political tenure. His loss is irreparable.

The veteran Congress politician's cremation will take place on Saturday morning at his home town Thrissur.

Karunakaran was hospitalized with severe health problems on December 10th, 2010. He was born in the year 1918.

Actually, on Wednesday morning Mr.Karunakaran's health deteriorated and suffered a stroke. On Thursday 5.30pm, he took his final breath in the hospital.

Chief Minister of Kerala, V.S. Achuthanandam arrived to hospital immediately on hearing the demise news of the ex-chief minister and paid his last respects.

Entire state of Kerala is mourning for three days on the death of the ex-chief minister K.Karunakaran.
