Consumer prices in Singapore are on relentless rise, strongest since 2009, and is now affecting all the people around the country. The Consumer Price Index in the country rose to 3.8% in the month of November compared to the 3.5% in October. Analysts at the Dow Jones have said that there can been seen surge in prices in almost all the sectors mentioned in the CPI. Datuk Mukhriz, Deputy International Trade and Industry Minster has said that the Malaysian economy will need to grow strongly in the future. The minister has also said that the country should register a growth rate of at least 8% annually. According to Datuk, the country will need show a stronger economic status if it needs to compare itself with its neighbouring nations.

In context to the growth he has said that, the economy of the original Malay’s should be better than the non-Malay’s, in this way the the economic gap between the Malay’s and the non Malay’s will not widen. It was also noticed this year that the economy of the Malay’s grew only by 2.0 to 2.5%, compared to the nation’s growth of 7%.

The Minister was quite worried about the fact that the economy of the Malay’s was quite low compared to the growth seen in the non Malay’s in the country. He also added that if the economic gap between the two countries keeps widening till the year 2020, then it will just be uncontrollable.

The Malaysian Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha, has said that he will be setting up an independent panel to investigate into the bus crash, which killed a number of Thai tourists on Monday. The latest protrabe will be highlighting the need to start improvements in the country’s transportation system, it will also put forth the need to modernize new areas in road transport.

Mr. Kong also said that the there are many transportation agencies, and many more vehicles on the road, so a board will be enquiring into the licenses and permits of these agencies, plus, force some conditions over these transport agencies in the future.

The decision to set up a panel was made by the cabinet, who had a meeting on Wednesday. Mr. Kong added that everyone is quite serious over this accident and that the Prime Minister himself is quite sad over this incident.
