Jonal Chong, the managing director of Jonal Chong Hair Couture admitted on Saturday, that he had never styled the superstar Nicole Kidman. The confession came after the MD was cornered by the Consumer association of Singapore for an answer.

Chong had initially claimed to that he was Kidman's stylist for three years. The 48 year old MD has apologized to the public and has assured that in future he will not make use of the actress's name in any of his advertisements.

Mr. Chong also confessed that he lied about styling American actress Katherine Heigl and actor Hugh Grant. He has also appealed the public to give him another chance.

The Singapore Consumer Association said that they would drop the matter if Chong stops the misleading advertisements. The issue caught fire after several reports had claimed the salon advertisements to be fake. Moreover Chong was trying his best to confirm that the pictures of him and Kidman were real.

Gary Ng had reportedly caught fame after the porn star had posted his videos of him having sex with many women. After the posts were broadcasted, many women had lined up to have sex with Gary.

According to reports, the women were impressed by his skills in the bed and wanted to put his skills to test. The Beastie Boy, Adam Yauch, who was suffering from cancer has reportedly recovered by switching to vegan diet and some Chinese medicines which were prescribe by Tibetan doctors. In 2009 the founder of Beastie Boys was diagnosed with tumor in parotid gland.

The news of his diagnosis led to the cancellation of the tour dates as well as postponement of their new album 'Hot Sauce Committee Part 1'. Yauch has also announced that he had plans to undergo a surgery.

The singer had also said that the cancer can be treated and will not affect his voice. According to reports the 46 year old performer is doing well and is expected to return for his tour later this year.

Born in New York, the singer in his early days had learned to play bass. He performed his first show with the Beastie Boys at the age of 17. He started to attend the Bard College but later dropped out.

January 7th, 2011, San Jose, an earthquake of 4.1 magnitude felt across southeast of San Jose Bay Area.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, this earthquake struck east of San Jose yesterday afternoon and this was felt throughout much of the Bay Area.

The earthquake was reported exactly at 4:10 pm in an area that is just south of Mt. Hamilton and 13 miles east-southeast of San Jose city hall basing on the USGS.

USGS also mentioned that this tremor had a depth of 4.4 miles approximately.

The nearest airport to the quake affected area is Reid-Hillview airport and operations at this airport are as usual without any interruption.

A spokeswoman for the Pacific Police Department said it has not received any calls about the earthquake or regarding damage caused by the earthquake.

January 7th, 2011, Las Vegas, CES tradeshow unveiled the Samsung's latest laptops TX-100 and ZX-310.

The two new laptops are totally fresh from the Samsung and completely away from their earlier products that are already in the market.

The Samsung TX-100 is a 10in Microsoft Windows 7 Home premium laptop which comes with a full QWERTY keyboard. The specialty of this laptop is its ability to convert into Apple iPad like Tablet PC.

This Samsung TX-100 is planned to launch initially in UK in this year spring and will cost approximately 599 pounds.

The Samsung TX-100 is Wi-Fi only and 3G version is underway. This laptop runs on Atom CPU with 64 GB SSD and 2GB RAM.

Samsung ZX-310 is a style conscious model and planned to take over the Apple's Macbook Air.

The ZX-310 is thinner and comes with Windows-7 and runs with an Intel Core i5 chip, 128GB SSD and 4GB RAM.

This Samsung ZX-310 is also slated to release this spring initially from UK and priced approximately at 1,399 pounds.

The Ngee Ann Polytechnic's school of engineering and SATA CommonHealth researchers, have invented quick method to detect tuberculosis. The researchers have found a software, which can detect TB in just five minutes, by analyzing the texture of the lungs in X-rays.

Detecting TB involves many long procedures, which also includes bacteriological culture tests. According to researchers, they have achieved a 90 percent success in detecting the disease in many TB patients.

The software testing research had begun last year in November. “Currently we are doing around 16,000 chest X-rays per month and we have only two radiologists reporting chest X-Rays. With this tool, we hope it would help radiologists filter out suspected TB cases and improve their productivity,” Diagnostic Imaging Services Manager, Collin Tan said.

The new software developed by researchers is computer aided and is said to increase the efficiency of the radiologists. The software can in future help in reducing the time consumed for screening TB.
