Pandit went on a hunger strike, leading to exclusion of 35 villages from the Corporation.

Recruitment of Officers by Ordnance Factory Board(OFB) Last Date Extended

Application in the prescribed format is invited from Indian Citizen only for following posts of Officers-B as Chargeman Grade-II (Probation) (Technical):

• Officers – B (Chargeman): 156 posts in various trades
• Pay Scale: Rs. 9300–34800.00 Grade Pay Rs.4200
• Age: 18-27 years as on 07/06/2010

Application Fee: Rs.100/- in the form of Bank Draft in favour of 'DGOF' payable at Kolkata. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH(PC) are exempted from paying bank draft.

How to Apply: Apply Online at OFB website only upto 23/05/2010 Now extended upto 31/05/2010 and after submitting the on-line application form an 'Acknowledgement' shall be generated. The candidate will have to download and send the Acknowledgement to OFB 'by post' to the Post Box No. 12006, Cossipore P.O. Kolkata – 700002 on or before 07/06/2010.

ONGC rules firm with a gain of around 2.5% on strong results. Jaiprakash Associates is up by a little over 1% with impressive quarterly numbers wooing investors to the counter. Hindustan Unilever, ITC, State Bank of India, Reliance Infrastructure, HDFC and Reliance Industries are up with modest gains.

IVRCL Infrastructure has gained 5.5%. Voltas is u p4.75%. Educomp Solutions and Gujarat Minerals are up 4.5% and 4.25% respectively. Gujarat State Petronet, Indian Oil Corporation, NMDC, Mundra Port, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, BPCL, Praj Industries, Allahabad Bank, Alstom Projects, Essar Oil, Federal Bank and Tata Chemicals are also up sharply.

Hindalco, Reliance Communications, DLF, Sterlite Industries and Tata Consultancy Services are trading lower by 1% – 2%. Tata Steel, Infosys Technologies, ACC, Jindal Steel, HDFC Bank and Wipro are down by 0.25% – 1%. BHEL, Cipla and ICICI Bank are down marginally.

Punj Lloyd is down 12.5% at Rs 120 on disappointing results. The company has reported higher consolidated net loss of Rs 300.87 crore in January – March 2010 quarter, compared to net loss of Rs 255.64 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Suzlon Energy is down 6.3% at Rs 57.15. Apollo Hospitals, REI Agro, Sesa Goa, Max India, Fortis Healthcare, HCL Technologies, Balrampur Chini, JSW Steel, Unitech and HDIL are down with notable losses.
