Deepika Padukone is not worried about marriage right now

Posted: 19 May 2010 11:05 PM PDT

After the success of Om Shanti Om, Deepika Padukone has been labeled as the next 'Bollywood sensation' by media. In an interview, the actress talks about her relationship and life post Om Shanti Om.

Deepika Padukone is the daughter of India's most successful badminton champion, Prakash Padukone. Though she was a national level player, she was not much interested to follow her father's footsteps. Instead, she entered into modeling when she was eighteen years old. Interestingly, Deepika Padukone appeared in few TV commercials when she was a child.

After Om Shanti Om, Deepika Padukone got many offers but she has become more careful than before. She understands that people's level of expectation has risen and she has a long career ahead of her. So, she needs to groom herself constantly to meet the expectations of her producer, directors and fans.

Regarding her signing Om Shanti Om with Shah Rukh Khan, she never thought that the movie would become so successful. For her success, Deepika Padukone is indebted to director Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan who considered her for the role.

Like cinema, Deepika Padukone's life took a sudden twist after Om Shanti Om. The overnight success, millions of fan mails, interviews and offers was too much for her to handle. Even today, she finds it very difficult to cope with her surroundings from time to time. She started as a model but she never thought of getting into movies. Though she was getting movie offers from the beginning of her career, she did not want to rush.

Regarding her relationship with Ranbeer Kapoor, Deepika Padukone said:

This is the first time I am truly in love and hence we decided not to hide our feelings from public. Being in love is the loveliest of feelings. Besides I am not a person who is frivolous in relationships.

Deepika Padukone is not thinking of marriage right now. After marriage, wives of the Kapoor family are not allowed to work in movies. Deepika Padukone is not thinking of marriage in the next three years and Ranbeer Kapoor's parents did not tell her anything about quitting movies. So she is not worried about it right now.

Sri Lanka vs India Second Test 2008: Virender Sehwag Ton Keeps India on Course

Posted: 19 May 2010 10:53 AM PDT

Audacious, outstanding, excellent, phenomenal, mind-blowing- the adjectives Sehwag's 15th test century could be adorned with. The way he played the 128-run unbeaten innings has been a revelation. The bowler most suffered for his devastating batting was Ajantha Mendis, who conceded 29 runs in his first four overs.

Now, come to Muttiah Muralitharan, the man whom India was largely suffered by in the first test. Sehwag handled Muralitharan with the same guile and style he did for Mendis. In fact, the two spinners did little against spirited Sehwag on the first day of the second test. In the opening partnership with Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag added 167 runs which made the ground of Indian innings. Though the later batsmen could not carry on winning momentum thanks to a short collapse in the middle order which saw four Indian batsmen going back to the pavilion within 11 runs, Virender Sehwag still remains at the crease as a constant threat for the Sri Lankan bowlers.

After the two poor batting performances in the first test, India went into the second test with a lot of pressure on their shoulder. Particularly, India's seemingly invincible batting line up was under the radar. On the other hand, Sri Lanka did not have that much pressure going into the second test after their spirited first test win. So, there is no doubt, the stage was not ready for Sehwag, but he showed he had the ability to make his way to play such a classy innings.

At the end of the day, Virender Sehwag and VVS Laxman remain unbeaten at the wicket and they will definitely look to carry on their innings as long as possible tomorrow. Sehwag already expressed his wish to convert his century into double, helping India to reach around 400-500 in their first innings. So, Sri Lankan spinner seems to have something to worry about now. Let us see if Sehwag can continue his hard-hitting batting show tomorrow as well.
