Luck and Prince of Thieves: Bollywood movie makers are frequently vising South Africa Posted: 18 May 2010 10:39 PM PDT If you are an Indian living in South Africa, then do not be surprised to see your favorite Bollywood hero/heroine on the streets. South Africa has become the current-favorite location of Bollywood movie makers. Sanjay Dutt, Shruti Rajalakshmi Haasan, Imran Khan and Vivek Oberoi are among the Bollywood stars to regularly visit South Africa for shooting purpose. Interestingly, the local print and electronic media could not reach them. It is said that they were very busy and did not have the opportunity to give any interview. So much busy that they could not even attend phone interview.
Well, the real reason is, previously, movie producers had a hard time tackling the huge crowd of NRI fans around the shooting location. This time, they become very cautious not to inform the local media.
Recently, two Bollywood movies, Luck and Prince of Thieves were shot in South Africa. Vivek Oberoi who starred in Prince of Thieves, did many stunt sequences for the movie. Famous Indian actor Kamal Haasan's daughter, Shruti Rajalakshmi Haasan starred with Imran Khan in Luck, which was shot in Durban; home to 1.2 million Indian people.

This is nice to see that Everex has started rolling out the 8.9-in CloudBook in Japan. Cloudbook CE1220J which is the update of first 7-in CloudBook comes with 8.9 inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display. Surprisingly, CloudBook has not moved to Atom processor and yet uses 1.2 GHz VIA C7-M for its new CloudBook. It is powered by 1GB, and 60GB HDD. It features 802.11b/g, Ethernet, 2 USB ports, ExpressCard Slot, 4-in-1 card reader, VGA output, 4 cell, 2200mAh. The laptop weighs in 2.1 lbs and runs on Windows XP SP3.
The Cloudbook CE1220J is not CloudBook Max which Everex promised to have the choice of WiMAX, 3G and 10-in display on it. I think we will be able to see CloudBook Max in the next year.

Sri Lanka vs India Second Test 2008: Spinners on Action Posted: 18 May 2010 10:17 AM PDT Yes, spinners are currently dominating in the ongoing second test at Galle. Except outstanding Sehwag, batsmen on both sides struggled against the spinners so far in the match. The wicket seems to be much more helpful for the spinners than what was expected. Spinners are getting turn and it is pretty sure, batsmen will find it very difficult to face the spinner in the fourth and fifth days.
Ajanta Mendis took six wickets, his first five-wicket haul in test cricket, in India's first innings, helping Sri Lanka restrict India's first innings at 329. The pace and variation Mendis brought in his bowling made the task harder for the Indian batsmen. Moreover, Mendis always bowls very close to the wicket- thus increasing the chance of LBW and bold.
In the final session, it was all about spinner Harbhajan Singh, who picked up four out of five wickets Sri Lanka lost today. Harbhajan also bowled with enough pace, besides maintaining sheer line and length. So, apparently, spinners are getting help from the wicket. It seems to be an alarming situation for the batsmen. Here, remember that Muttiah Muralitharan and Anil Kumble, the two most experienced bowlers in the match, are yet to come out with their real form in the match. So, the remaining three days seem to be very challenging for the batsmen. |
Deepika Padukone wish Bachna Ae Haseeno become Ranbir Kapoor’s big ticket movie Posted: 18 May 2010 04:14 AM PDT Deepika Padukone is only one film old but she is among the most fortunate actresses in Bollywood. In her debut movie, she was paired up with Shah Rukh Khan, the most successful actor in Bollywood. Her second movie, Bachna Ae Haseeno, is from Yash Raj Films, the largest film producer in Bollywood. The movie is also special for her because she was paired up with Ranbir Kapoor, her real-life boyfriend.
In an interview, the former super-model turned actress talks about her experience about working in Bachna Ae Haseeno . When asked about her feelings working with Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone said that it does not matter because she was in her working space. However, she enjoyed very much shooting the song and also liked the song Khuda Jaane sung by KK and Shilpa Rao. Upon the release of the promotional video of the song, many of her fans and avid Hindi movie goers congratulated her sending emails and SMS. The first three person whom Deepika called was choreographer, Ahmed Khan, cinematographer, Sunil Patel, and director Siddharth Anand for giving her and Ranbir Kapoor such a nice song.
The song, 'Khuda Jaane' was shot in various exotic locations in Italy and Deepika Padukone enjoyed it very much. She was so charmed by the beauty of Italy that she has decided to do her honeymoon in Italy .
While talking about other two actresses- Minissha Lamba and Bipasha Basu sharing the screen with Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone said that they were taken as per the requirement of the script. She had no control over the casting. However, she praised them highly for their performance in the movie.
Deepika Padukone's debut movie, Om Shanti Om, was the highest grossing movie of 2007. However, Ranbir Kapoor was not so fortunate. His debut movie, Saawariya , directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, tanked at the box office. Deepika Padukone wish and pray that Bachna Ae Haseeno become a big hit and propel Ranbir Kapoor's career.
In Bachna Ae Haseeno, Deepika Padukone plays the character of 'Gayatri.' Gayatri is an NRI girl living in Australia . Gayatri is a very ambitious girl. She is fearless and knows what she wants and knows how to get it. Yet, she is different from other girls because she is very traditional. Famous designer, Akki Narula, designed the clothes for Deepika Padukone. Since Deepika Padukone worked as a model under him, she completely trusted her.
