New Delhi, Jan 12th 2011- The Prime Minister, Dr. Man Mohan Singh, will inaugurate the Swami Vivekananda's 150th birth anniversary celebrations nationwide today.

A national committee has been established with the Prime Minister as the chairman to look after the celebration successfully.

As a part of these celebrations, Prime Minister will also release a book "Awakening India" and this book will contains the few of the Swami Vivekananda's writings that were addressed for the youth.

This year national committee decided to conduct a Future Leader Discovery Contest" for the students, which will have three stages of an online competition all over India.

In 2011 this competition will be held for school students and in 2012 it will be held for college students.

Swami Vivekananda's 150th birth anniversary celebration will spread over four years and this will be held all over India focusing mainly over the country's youth.

Ramakrishna Mission will participate in these celebrations with many cultural programs and competitions for the youth.

TNPSC or Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission today announced the results of the Group 2 for the year 2010.

The commuters of Singapore will soon be gifted with four new MRT stations in Tuas in the next five years. The new stations are a part of the Tuas West Extension project worth S$3.5b, which was announced in 2008.

The new stations which will be build are Tuas Cresent along pioneer road, Tuas along Tuas Road, Tuas west and Tuas Link. Raymond Lim, the Transport Minister also announced the opening of Circle Line, by the fourth quarter of this year.

“When completed, it will improve accessibility and connectivity for people who work in the Jurong and Tuas industrial areas," Lim said. He also said that the travelling time in a bus which takes 35 minutes will be reduced to 15 minutes with the introduction of the new stations. Moreover 13 more stations will be added in the extension and will be introduced by 2015.

According to reports, the project has to make it way through nine properties and 49 plots.

The new promoted executive chief of Barclays', Bob Diamond has promised to payout the bonuses of the bankers. However the new chief has not confirmed if he would payout the bonuses this year, which are calculated to be worth £8 million.

The former head of the investment banking department was promoted on 1st January, and has told that the time for apologies is over, to the Treasury Selection committee. "I'm committed as chief executive to acting responsibly, to showing any restraint I can. "Bonuses are not taken lightly. We are sensitive. We're listening," Diamond said.

The 59 year old chief said that, it is too early to disclose the exact figures, of what the staff will receive. The figure meanwhile is still calculated and is apparently going to be a little less than the previous payments.

According to sources, the City Bank staff is expected to get £7bn which was £7.3bn last year. And the figure is even less than the payout in 2007 which was £11.6bn.

Students at the Republic Polytechnic from the School of Sports Health and Leisure, came up with a high tech test of balance and stability. The system was put to test by the ice skating icon Michelle Kwan.

Miss Kwan is currently in Singapore as a sport ambassador for US for a week. Michelle as a subject for the system had to stand on the device for ten seconds.

The motion analysis system then calculates and records the body movement of the subject. “I’ve never done anything quite like it. I’ve skated for so many years and I’ve assumed my balance is right on. Perfect. No, but it was a little off. Balance is key to the success of an athlete. So if an athlete understands that his or her balance is a little off… they can make corrections accordingly. So I think this test is very, very important for athletes,” said Kwan.

According to reports, her schedule includes skating with the Singaporean special Olympians. On Monday the skater also conducted a skating clinic for children at Kallang Ice World. Kwan says that, she expects to interact with many skaters as well as prospective skaters during her visit to Singapore.
